Bio
Tim Weed is the author of four books of fiction, including The Afterlife Project, named a best book of 2025 by Library Journal and the Toronto Star. His work has won multiple Writer’s Digest Annual Fiction Awards and has been shortlisted for the Prism Prize for Climate Literature, the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Award, the Eric Hoffer Book Award, the Tobias Wolff Award for Fiction, the William Faulkner-William Wisdom Award, the New Rivers Many Voices Project, and many others. His nonfiction has appeared in Writers Digest, Literary Hub, The Revelator, The Millions, The Writer’s Chronicle, Talking Points Memo, The Good Men Project, and elsewhere. His latest novel is The Gatepost: “This spellbinder from Weed . . . is sure to entertain.” — Publisher’s Weekly.
Tim serves on the core faculty of the Newport MFA in Creative Writing and is the co-founder of the Cuba Writers Program. In his previous career he directed student travel and college semester abroad programs around the globe and was a featured expert for National Geographic Expeditions. He is a member of the Vermont Humanities Council Speakers Bureau and presents frequently at US and international literary festivals and writing conferences.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Tim Weed while writing a member News article for SCBWI Newsletter by checking out this website. Wow! I hope others do too. Hope to drop in and meet you sometime at Grubstreet in Boston, in the meantime, I can’t wait to get my hands on Will Poole’s Island (Aug. 2014)
