February 1, 2014 § 7 Comments
Hey everyone, my short story “The Afternoon Client,” winner of the Crime Category in the 2013 Writer’s Digest Popular Fiction Awards, is now up at Sixfold. You can read it on-line here, or, if you’d rather have a a print version of the entire winter fiction issue and at the same time support the efforts of this innovative little review, you can order the paperback here.
I hope you enjoy the story!

Tim, I enjoyed this story a lot. Growing up on Long Island Sound I have a pretty strong connection to the visuals, the types of fish, and the terminology. I was never much of a fisher, but descendant of a few long family lines that made their livings off the ocean. I love how the tension continued to rise, a working class/upper class conflict of sorts, till the very end. I had sense something would go awry, but I kept thinking this guy seems like a good guy, he’s not going there. Yet he did.
Thanks David! Very much appreciate the feedback. One of the things I enjoy about writing fiction, and especially short fiction, is that sometimes it is possible to “go there.” Be well!
Great job!!! Nicely done.
Thanks Dede!
Thanks Tim, I’ve ordered a couple copies, which should get delivered this week–looking forward to reading it!
Fantastic. I think you’ll enjoy many of the other stories as well!
